About Me

I am an ecologist particularly interested in the ecology and conservation of rare, under-studied species. In my current role, I am investigating how green infrastructure can sustain and improve urban biodiversity. I am further interested in how we can use modern technology, such as remote sensing, acoustic monitoring, sensor networks and machine learning to answer these questions and how we can utilize them for rapid biodiversity assessments and long-term monitoring.

While ecology is my job, I have broad interests ranging from history to politics, languages and more. I am a collector of oddities and artefacts. Currently, I am taking a deep dive into Islam and Islamic extremism.
